Spectral Factorization by Symmetric Extraction for Distributed Parameter Systems

چکیده
The spectral factorization problem of a scalar coercive spectral density is considered in the framework of the CallierDesoer algebra of distributed parameter system transfer functions. Criteria for the infinite product representation of a coercive spectral density and for the convergence of infinite product representations of spectral factors, i.e. for the convergence of the symmetric extraction method for solving the spectral factorization problem, are described and commented. These theoretical results of concergence are illustrated by some examples.

Iterative Weighted Non-smooth Non-negative Matrix Factorization for Face Recognition
Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is a part-based image representation method. It comes from the intuitive idea that entire face image can be constructed by combining several parts. In this paper, we propose a framework for face recognition by finding localized, part-based representations, denoted “Iterative weighted non-smooth non-negative matrix factorization” (IWNS-NMF). A new cost fun...
متن کاملThe Spectral Factorization Problem for Multivariable Distributed Parameter Systems
This paper studies the solution of the spectral factorization problem for multivariable distributed parameter systems with an impulse response having an in nite number of delayed impulses. A coercivity criterion for the existence of an invertible spectral factor is given for the cases that the delays are a) arbitrary (not necessarily commensurate) and b) equally spaced (commensurate); for the l...
متن کاملWZ factorization via Abay-Broyden-Spedicato algorithms
Classes of Abaffy-Broyden-Spedicato (ABS) methods have been introduced for solving linear systems of equations. The algorithms are powerful methods for developing matrix factorizations and many fundamental numerical linear algebra processes. Here, we show how to apply the ABS algorithms to devise algorithms to compute the WZ and ZW factorizations of a nonsingular matrix as well as...
متن کاملQuadratic Optimal Control through Coprime and Spectral Factorizations
We consider the innnite horizon quadratic cost minimization problem for a linear time-invariant distributed parameter system with nitely may inputs and outputs. Our approach is to work in an input/output framework, and to reduce the problem to a symmetric Wiener-Hopf problem, that can be solved by means of a canonical factorization of the symbol. We have earlier solved the case where the system...
متن کاملa Simplified Model of Distributed Parameter Systems
A generalized simplified model for describing the dynamic behavior of distributed parameter systems is proposed. The various specific characteristics of gain and phase angle of distributed parameter systems are investigated from frequency response formulation and complex plane representation of the proposed simplified model. The complex plane investigation renders some important inequality cons...
